animal feed additive enzymes

animal feed additive enzymes | livestock feed grade enzymes

Enzymes are now widely used in animal feed for various reasons, such as inhibiting antinutritional factors of ingredients, improving access to nutrients, compensating the lack of enzymes either for breaking down chemical bonds or the absence because of an undeveloped gastrointestinal tract in young animals

Two of the most commonly used carbohydrase enzymes are the amylase and xylanase enzymes. Using carbohydrates dramatically improves the digestibility of carbohydrates in animal feed. Protease catalyzes the digestion of protein, quickly breaking it down into usable nutrients once ingested by the animal

Enzymes added to animal feed: The exogenous enzymes used mainly in the animal feed industry as feed additives are cellulase, β-glucanases, xylanases, and associated enzymes phytases, proteases, lipases, and galactosidases

Enzymes can be microbial or non-animal, but some enzymes are derived from slaughtered calves and other animals. It is true that whey is made from milk sources, but sometimes it is produced using non-vegetarian sources, such as rennet. Rennet, or rennin, is another word for animal enzymes that are calf derived.
